And may God have mercy on his soul....

While I've never considered myself a very religious person I was raised Catholic, so this year for Lent I have decided to give up Soda's and Tea. Both the primary source of my Caffeine intake. I don't drink Coffee so no caffeine there. Yep that's right kids its cold cold turkey time for me.

Ohh the Inhumanity

Well its officially been one week since my last intake of non incidental caffeine. Yep no soda's and no Tea. I've not had the head aches most folks get, which I take to be a good sign, though someone did comment that just means there is sooo much caffeine in my system that it hasn't worn off yet. Though I did find one issue, because I'm not drinking cokes during the day at work I've found I'm not drinking thus I'm in a worse state of daily dehydration then normal. Been trying to drink more water during the day but well ya know.

So far there has only been one jokingly threatening of bodily harm if they don't hand over the Soda so things are going well.

though I find myself longingly looking at the 64 ounce bladder busters at the mini mart.....

the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened. [Gen 7:11]

So yesterday I got off site early due to the illness of my fight scene partner. I made the long trek home, as I came near down town traffic started backing up as it is want to do. So I got in my normal lane and stayed there as I usually do. It wasn't till we came down near the down town core that the problem appeared. What I thought was going to be a accident on the side of the road was actually sections of the highway shut off due to flooding. I was lucky in that I came through about 3-4pm before they really started shutting things down. As I moved father down, my normal exit of the Tollway was blocked off, probably because the low area around the toll plaza was flooded. Then the fun sights started appearing. Down near parkland and that stretch along 35. the service roads were flooded out, cars swept aside or sitting low in the water. I watched a DFD engine wade its way through the waters to reach a car with water up to the top of the wheels. As I came under the change over to 183 from 35 the right hand side of southbound 35 was starting to flood. In the photo below the area of road between the hood of my truck and the water is the right lane of 35, some where under that water is the curb, the grass, and the service road. That poor car is probably on the far right side of the service road. I got home after about a hour and forty five min. Some folks were stuck for twice that.

Granted the confessionals can be funny, but i still scooted a little bit away so nobody would see me near the chic reading cosmo at a political speech - JW

What's more, I will track your IP address, find your real address, and arrange for you to be nuked from orbit. I may be kidding about that last part; I may not. You have no real way of knowing. - KP

Tech support chat means that they can type with a bad accent rather than speak with it. I am not certain which I find more offensive. - PC
